1.1 FULL-TIME STUDENTS
Full-time students are permitted, based on their fee and program, to come to school from Mondays to Thursdays.
1.2 PART-TIME STUDENTS
Executive students are permitted to come to school twice a week, i.e., on Thursday and any other day within the week.
1.3 FOUNDATION STUDENT
Students under the foundation program are permitted to receive lectures only on Saturdays.
1.4 INTERNSHIP
The Academy has a paid internship for all students before graduation, who have covered the cut-off mark of 75 % in their final grading and can be retained as a full staff member after graduation. Internship applications should be done officially via mail to: gmytfashionacademy@gmail.com or career@gmytfashionacademy.com for approval.
1.5 CLASS STAGES
The GMYT Fashion Academy curriculum is designed with a corporate strategic focus to equip all students with all the necessary skills to excel in the fashion space. The curriculum is therefore designed to progress students across competencies as follows;
All students that register with GMYT Fashion Academy must take an entrance assessment and consultation to determine the class best fit based on the result of the assessment.
1.6.1 ELIGIBILITY FOR PROGRAM CHANGE
Any student seeking to change their program after admission must comply with the following procedure and pay the requisite administrative fee. Program changes are only permitted after official admission and enrollment have been completed.
1.6.2 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE
A non-refundable fee of ₦200,000 must be paid to initiate the program change request.
1.6.3 PAYMENT SUBMISSION
Students must submit proof of payment to the Accounts Department via gmyt4financedept@gmail.com before any program change can be processed.
1.6.4 REQUIRED UPDATES FOLLOWING PROGRAM CHANGE

2.1.1 REGISTRATION TIMELINE
All newly admitted students are required to commence and complete their registration and documentation process within two (2) weeks of resuming at GMYT Fashion Academy. This process confirms the student’s official enrollment status and eligibility to participate in academic activities within the Academy.

2.1.4 CLASS ATTENDANCE RESTRICTION FOR INCOMPLETE DOCUMENTATION
Students whose registration or documentation remains incomplete will not be permitted to attend classes or participate in academic activities until all required documentation and payment records have been fully completed and verified by the appropriate administrative department.
2.1.5 STUDENT EMAIL SOP POLICY (OFFICIAL SCHOOL EMAIL USAGE)
All students are required to obtain, create, and use their official Academy-issued email address during the registration process, in accordance with the format prescribed by the Finance and Administrative Department. This official email shall serve as the sole recognized channel for all academic and administrative communication within the Academy.
Only email addresses issued in the Academy’s approved format will be granted access to institutional platforms, including Google Classroom, the student portal, and other academic systems. Any personal or unofficial email addresses will not be recognized, added to the students’ classroom, or attended to for any form of official correspondence. Access to the student portal and all related platforms will be granted exclusively through the approved official student email address.

2.1.6 STUDENT GUARANTOR FORM
To ensure accountability and proper verification, every student of GMYT Fashion Academy must present a guarantor who meets the following eligibility criteria:

2.2.1 STUDENT INDUCTION
GMYT Fashion Academy conducts an induction ceremony to formally induct students who have successfully completed their registration and admission documentation. The induction officially recognizes students as members of the Academy and marks the commencement of their academic journey within the institution.

2.2.2 MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND INSTITUTIONAL EVENTS
The GMYT orientation program is designed specifically for newly admitted students to introduce them to the academy’s academic structure, institutional policies, learning expectations, and operational procedures.
Attendance at the orientation program, induction ceremony, and any other official event organized by the Academy is mandatory for all students.
2.2.3 ABSENCE FROM ORIENTATION OR OFFICIAL EVENTS
Any student who may be unable to attend the orientation program or any official institutional event due to unavoidable circumstances must formally notify the Academy.

2.2.4 COMPLIANCE

2.3.1 MANDATORY LAPTOP REQUIREMENT
A laptop is a mandatory academic requirement for all students of GMYT Fashion Academy. Students are required to come to school with their personal laptops as it forms an essential tool for learning and participation in academic activities.
2.3.2 ACADEMIC USE OF LAPTOPS

All Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and examinations at GMYT Fashion Academy must be conducted using laptops only.
2.3.3.1 CBT EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT

All candidates are required to strictly adhere to the institution’s CBT examination rules and regulations. Non-compliance may result in restriction from the examination or other academic activities.
2.3.3.2 POLICY ON MISSED COMPUTER-BASED TESTS (CBT)
Any student who misses a scheduled computer-based test (CBT) has forfeited the original assessment opportunity. This is due to the administrative process involved in coordinating and organizing the CBT.
However, a reset may be arranged upon request, subject to an administrative fee of ₦100,000 to cover the cost of organising a new session. Students who choose not to take advantage of this option will have the missed CBT recorded as a zero score.
All students are therefore advised to adhere strictly to scheduled CBT timelines to avoid additional costs or loss of marks.
Every student, at the completion of their program at GMYT, it is required to pay and attend the graduation ceremony / fashion show organized by the school in partnership with (GAHAWARDS). It is important students understand that this is a critical part of their program with GMYT Fashion Academy and it is mandatory for certification.
3.1 CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT/EXAMINATION
All students must participate in all tests, exams, collections, and projects, as these combined will form the monthly cumulative grade point average, which is the basis of final certification. Students who fail to participate in this continuous assessment, without an approved reason, shall undergo disciplinary actions up to expulsion and/or decertification.
3.2 CLASSWORK AND ASSIGNMENTS
After every class, all students are mandated to participate in any class work as given by the Facilitator. All assignments must be properly packaged and submitted as per the due date, with a write-up of the process and techniques applied in the drafting and construction of the garment, and the name of the student attached for assessment.

3.4 GRADUATION CUT-OFF MARK
Student assessment at GMYT Fashion Academy shall be cumulative of all assignments, class work, and projects. At the end of the program, all students are expected to meet the cut-off mark approved by the Academy. The approved cut-off mark is 75%, and it is the criterion for graduation. Failure to meet up will attract extra fees and a re-seating of the practical sessions for the said students.
3.5 CERTIFICATION
In furtherance of the provisions above, the following are the acceptable criteria for all students of GMYT Fashion Academy after their program, to be considered for graduation and certification;

3.6 TESTIMONIALS
All students are required to give testimonials within one month of the program, as feedback is an important criterion for structure.
3.7 SUBMISSION OF GRADUATION OUTFITS
Students must submit their graduation outfits on or before the due date for submission to enable the school to make appropriate arrangements for transporting them.
This policy establishes the procedures and requirements for the issuance of official academic transcripts. It ensures that all academic records released are accurate, verifiable, and formally recognised for purposes including employment, further education, professional certification, or any other official use.

4.1 ELIGIBILITY FOR ISSUANCE OF ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS
Academic transcripts shall be issued only to students who have fully satisfied all institutional, academic, and administrative requirements of their respective programs. To qualify for transcript issuance, the student must meet the following conditions:

4.3. PROCEDURE FOR REQUESTING ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS
Students requesting an official academic transcript are required to submit a formal written application to the Administrative Office via (adm4gmyt@gmail.com) with a minimum processing notice of 30 days before the intended date of use.
Kindly note that transcript processing is not immediate. All requests undergo a structured administrative and academic review process, and as such, students are advised to plan their requests well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
All transcript requests are subject to a thorough verification process to confirm the completeness of academic records, scores, and fulfillment of all institutional requirements.
Upon successful verification and approval, transcripts will be issued as official documents, duly signed and stamped by the Academy, and made available in either printed or secure digital format, as applicable.
4.4. IMPORTANT NOTES ON TRANSCRIPT ISSUANCE
Academic transcripts are classified as confidential institutional documents and shall only be released to the student or duly authorized third parties, subject to proper verification and consent.
Students are responsible for ensuring that all personal and academic information provided is accurate and up to date before submitting a transcript request.
Any discrepancies, errors, or disputes relating to transcript content or issuance must be formally reported to the Administrative Office immediately for review and necessary correction.
The Academy shall not be held liable for issues arising from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the student.
4.5. CONTACT INFORMATION FOR TRANSCRIPT INQUIRIES

All communications must be formal, clearly stating the purpose of the inquiry, and include relevant student details to facilitate prompt and accurate response.
5.1 OFFICIAL PROCUREMENT REQUIREMENT
All students are required to obtain their complete Student Kits and prescribed learning materials directly from the Academy store upon full payment of the required fees to the Accounting Department. This is to ensure standardization and uniformity in tools and materials used for training.
5.2 STARTER KITS AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Academy provides essential basic sewing kits required for class activities. However, all students bear full responsibility for the safekeeping of their kits, as the management shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or misplacement.
5.3 NON-TRANSFERABILITY OF MATERIALS
All Student Kits, textbooks, and Academy-issued materials are strictly non-transferable. The sale, resale, exchange, or redistribution of these materials between students, whether active, inactive, or withdrawn, is strictly prohibited.

7.1 NON-REFUNDABLE/NON-CONVERTIBLE FEES
All tuition fees, as well as any other payments made to the academy, are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-convertible. Note that all fees paid to the school are non-refundable, and all installment fees must be fully paid within 3 months from the first payment.
7.2 INSTALLMENT PAYMENT
Only six (6), nine (9), and twelve (12) month tuition plans are eligible for installment payment. Three (3) month fees must be paid in full and are not eligible for installments.
All approved installment payments shall follow a fixed structure of 50% as the initial payment, 25% in the second month, and the remaining 25% in the third month. This structure applies to all installment payment plans.
All installment fees must be completed within three (3) months on the agreed dates. Failure to comply will result in restriction from academic activities.
Please note that tuition fees are strictly non-transferable to another individual.
7.3 EXTENSION OF DURATION
Students are eligible to extend their program within two weeks of resumption. Only the difference between the current duration and the program the student wishes to extend will be paid. Hence, an extension of the program after 2 weeks costs #100,000 (NGN) for the first month and #70,000 (NGN) for subsequent months.
7.4 DEFERMENTS/FREEZING OF ACCOUNT
All students are entitled to a deferment of not more than 3 months accompanied by a valid reason to be away. Hence, freezing accounts costs only a hundred thousand naira (#100,000) per month. To freeze your account:
NB: If no approval is given, the request is void; nonetheless, with/without approval, all students must graduate within the same year of registration/admission.
7.5 IDENTITY CARD
Students must always wear their ID cards. Any student who goes contrary to this will not be allowed in the school and can be suspended if it becomes a pattern; hence, new students are entitled to a temporary identity card approved by the school (kindly visit the administrative office for registration, the account office for payment, and lastly, back to administrative office for issuance)
7.6 LOSS OF ID CARD: Reissuing of the school ID card if lost costs #10,000 (NGN).
7.7 NON-COMMENCEMENT OR NON-COMPLETION OF COURSE
If a student fails to complete the course, no refund or reduction of fees will be given to him/her. Also, a certain number of hours must be completed by each student before practical’s and exams can be taken.
7.8 INTERNSHIP & GRADUATION FEES POLICY
Internship and graduation fees are variable and subject to periodic review based on prevailing market conditions, operational requirements, and economic factors. As such, these fees are not fixed at the point of admission.
Graduation fees will be formally communicated to students within a time-frame of one (1) to three (3) months before the scheduled graduation date.
Internship-related fees, including both internal and external placements, will be communicated within the applicable internship window. Students are expected to comply with all communicated fees as required for participation.
All course forms/logbooks must be filled out, including two passports, one portrait photograph in soft and hard copy, and must be submitted before resumption. A student course form is issued to every student by the academy during orientation, after payment has been made. The course form details all activities of the student in the Academy and must be kept properly. GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be responsible for the loss or damage of any course form in the possession of any student. GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be required to duplicate the contents of any student’s course form in the future, resulting from the loss or damage of any course form.
8.1 MD’S/ HOS REMARK
All students are expected to submit their logbook to their Academy Coordinator every month for sightings and remarks.
8.2 LOSS OF COURSE FORM/LOG BOOK
A new course form/logbook, if misplaced, costs ten thousand naira only (#100,000). All students must take proper care of it, as this is the official book approved by the school for documentation and to track students’ progress. Any student without a logbook will not be allowed in class, and no facilitator will attend him/her.
8.3 LOGBOOKS
All students are expected to sign in all their daily activities in their logbooks and ensure that their instructors sign them. Failure to do this will result in suspension.
8.4 SYLLABUS
Non-completion of the program’s syllabus by any student means the student will not be allowed to take the next class and then the final examination. Any student who does not complete the syllabus will have to complete it at extra cost.
Attendance: Any student who doesn’t partake in any fabric week will create two different outfits unassisted, and the styles of the outfits will be given by the HOD. Also, such a student will have to get a Model, go to a studio, take professional pictures of the two projects, and submit them to the school on a 500g hard drive, which becomes the property of the school.
Many individuals judge the academic accomplishment of students based on the intellectual level of the facilitator. But the biggest predictor of a student’s academic achievement is the involvement of family and friends in the learning process.
This participation is not limited to parental interest in a student’s education; it is a shared obligation with staff and facilitators to accomplish educational objectives and promote a student’s development and GMYT in general.
Our fabric week is a mini fashion show and a crucial platform for promoting our students’ creativity; thus, it should not be limited to the team and the students.
Students should be aware that from now on, inviting their relatives and friends is a huge part of the assessment process.

10.1 DISCIPLINE AND DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS
The management of the academy has the authority to suspend, dismiss, or expel students, with or without prior notice, if the student’s behavior warrants such action. In the event of such action, the management’s decision will be considered final, and no refund of fees will be provided.
10.2 DAMAGE REPORTING AND RESOLUTION
Students must promptly report any damages or losses they cause, identify the responsible student, and take immediate responsibility for rectifying the situation. This will minimize disruptions to class activities and foster a sense of accountability among students, ensuring the school’s property is well-maintained.
10.3 CLASS POLICY
To create a positive and respectful learning environment by promoting punctuality, attentiveness, and good communication among students, instructors, and staff for the entire course duration, students will adhere to the following guidelines consistently:

The reason for the school policy is to protect the interests of the students and the school. Any student found guilty of verbally defaming and sabotaging the school will be expelled immediately. Also, the school shall use all legal means to persecute the culprit.
10.5 STEALING
Stealing of any kind is a serious offense at GMYT. Any student caught in the act shall be expelled forthwith and may be made to go through legal prosecution. Any student alleged to have stolen will have to undergo an investigation and, if found guilty, will be expelled.
10.6 UNIFORM
All students must wear the Academy’s T-Shirts on Thursdays. Any student who does not wear the T-shirt will not be allowed in class, and no facilitator will attend to him/her.
10.7 GMD’S OFFICE

that all meetings are purposeful, well-prepared, and conducted professionally. It provides clear guidelines on submission, review, scheduling, and conduct for all student interactions with the GMD.

The students’ attendance policy requires that students send an email to their class facilitator/faculty or to the Student Affairs Department explaining the urgent reasons for their anticipated absence from classes. The purpose of this email is to request permission for their absence and provide a rationale for why it should be granted. It is important to note that topics will not be repeated for students who miss classes without prior notice or arrive late.
The courses offered are continuous, except for termination or approved vacation periods, which are subject to the Management’s approval. Students must adhere to these specified dates for termination or vacations.
In the event of illness, students are eligible to receive lectures on topics missed upon submission of a doctor’s report as evidence of their condition.
Students need to comply with these guidelines and communicate directly with the class facilitators and the Student Affairs Department officially, not verbally, as required. By following the outlined procedures, students can effectively manage their attendance and ensure that any urgent reasons for their absence are properly addressed and officially approved.
10.11 LITTERING OF CLASSES, VIP LOUNGE, AND CUTTING ROOM
Students must maintain cleanliness in the classrooms, cutting rooms, and the VIP room. Any student caught going contrary to this instruction would be suspended.
11.0 HEALTH REGULATION POLICY
This policy is established to ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of all students within the Academy. It outlines the responsibilities and expectations required to maintain a hygienic, safe, and conducive learning environment.
11.1 MEDICAL DISCLOSURE AND DOCUMENTATION

12.0 ELECTRONICS POLICY
To ensure safety, energy efficiency, and the protection of Academy facilities, the use of electronic devices within the Academy is regulated as follows:
12.1 RESTRICTION ON HIGH POWER-CONSUMING DEVICES
Students are strictly prohibited from bringing or using electronic devices with high power consumption within the Academy premises. These include, but are not limited to, appliances such as electric cookers, hot plates, refrigerators, microwaves, pressing irons, and other similar equipment.
12.2 APPROVED ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Students are permitted to use low-power-consuming and academically relevant devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and other approved learning tools, provided they are used responsibly and strictly for educational purposes.

13.1 PROPER USE OF AIR-CONDITIONING UNITS
All air-conditioning units must be used responsibly and with due care. When an air-conditioner is in operation, all doors and windows within the classroom must remain closed at all times.

13.2 FACILITY PRESERVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY
Compliance with this protocol supports the Academy’s ability to consistently provide a comfortable and conducive learning environment for all students. Improper use of air-conditioning systems may lead to avoidable breakdowns and increased maintenance costs.
13.3 UNAUTHORIZED USAGE PROHIBITION
Students are strictly prohibited from switching on air-conditioning units in classrooms or spaces that are not in use or not assigned to them at the time. This is part of the Academy’s effort to conserve energy and protect its facilities.
13.4 MONITORING AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Any student or group of students found violating these guidelines—including leaving doors or windows open while the air conditioner is running or operating units without authorization—will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include formal queries and other appropriate sanctions.
13.5 COMPLIANCE
This policy is established to promote responsible usage, preserve Academy resources, and ensure the sustainability of facilities. All students are expected to comply fully in the interest of maintaining a conducive academic environment.
14.0 VISITOR’S POLICY
To maintain order, security, and an undisturbed academic environment, the following guidelines regarding visitors are to be strictly observed:
14.1 RESTRICTION ON VISITORS DURING OFFICIAL HOURS
Students are not permitted to entertain or receive guests within the Academy premises during official academic hours. This policy is put in place to ensure that all students remain focused on their academic activities without unnecessary distractions.
14.2 ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
The presence of unauthorized visitors during learning hours may disrupt classes, compromise security, and interfere with the smooth operation of the Academy. As such, all student interactions within this period must remain strictly academic.
14.3 SECURITY AND ACCESS CONTROL
Only individuals with official authorization or legitimate academic/business purposes are allowed within the Academy during operational hours. Students are not permitted to grant access to visitors on their own authority.
14.4 COMPLIANCE
Any student found violating this policy by accommodating or entertaining guests during official hours will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include formal warnings or other sanctions as deemed appropriate by the Academy.
To maintain a conducive learning environment, the school prohibits the consumption of solid foods in the classroom. All students will be required to take a break to eat in the designated VIP room. Any student found eating solid foods in the classroom before, during, or after class will be promptly sent out of the class and subsequently penalized.
The student will also be mandated to send an email to the school stating why they should not be suspended. This rule will be consistently enforced to ensure that students comply and that disruptions caused by eating in the classroom are eliminated.
Nannies are not allowed in the school; however, Students with babies cannot bring their babies to school to avoid distractions during class hours. It is advised to take your child to daycare or hire a nanny to attend to your kid. Should you have your child visit you (no more than once), considering the nature of the classrooms, parents are liable for their kids, and the management would not be responsible should accidents happen. Also, parents must ensure their kids don’t disrupt classes.
17: STUDENT COMPLAINTS AND OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE POLICY
GMYT Fashion Academy is committed to fostering a supportive and transparent learning environment. To ensure that student concerns are addressed fairly, efficiently, and professionally, the Academy has established a formal process for submitting complaints. This policy outlines the procedures, timelines, and standards for students to raise issues, queries, or recommendations, ensuring that every valid concern receives proper attention and resolution.
17.1 SUBMISSION OF COMPLAINTS
All students are required to submit complaints exclusively via email to the approved communication channels. Verbal complaints, whether in person or over the phone, will not be recognized or acted upon within the Organization.
17.2 APPROVED COMMUNICATION CHANNELS
Students should contact the Student Affairs Team for guidance on helplines and official communication channels. All email correspondence regarding complaints, queries, or recommendations should be directed to: gmytstudentaffairs@gmail.com.
17.3 RESPONSE TIMELINE
Complaints submitted via the approved channels will be addressed formally within seven (7) days, providing adequate time for proper review and response.
17.4 TEMPLATE COMPLIANCE
Only complaints submitted in accordance with the approved template, as provided in the Course Form on page 37, will be attended to. Any complaint not following the specified template will be considered invalid and will not be addressed.
17.5 Adherence to Communication Protocol (Chain of Command)
GMYT Fashion Academy operates a clear, structured communication hierarchy designed to ensure order, accountability, and efficiency.
Students are strictly required to follow the established chain of communication at all times. Under no circumstances should students bypass official channels to contact senior leadership directly.
Direct communication with the Group Managing Director (GMD) or other executive leadership by students is strictly prohibited, except where expressly authorized by the Academy.
Failure to adhere to this protocol:
Any student found bypassing the approved communication process may face disciplinary action.
17.6 Respect and Professional Conduct
All students are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, respect, and decorum in all forms of communication. The Academy upholds a culture of mutual respect, and all correspondence must reflect this standard.
To promote unity, identity, and institutional branding, the following additional dress code requirement is hereby established:
18.1 MANDATORY GMYT BRANDED T-SHIRT DAYS
All students are required to wear the official GMYT T-shirt on the following designated days:
18.2 COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENT
Wearing the GMYT T-shirt on the specified days is compulsory. Students must ensure that the T-shirt is clean, neat, and properly presented in line with the Academy’s standards.
18.3 ENFORCEMENT AND SANCTIONS
Any student who fails to comply with this requirement may be denied participation in scheduled academic activities for that day and may be subject to further disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the Academy.
18.4 COMPLIANCE
This policy reinforces a sense of belonging, uniformity, and pride in the Academy. All students are expected to comply fully with this directive as part of their academic responsibility.
To ensure a safe, healthy, and professional environment within the Academy, the following regulations regarding smoking and the consumption of alcohol are strictly enforced:
19.1 PROHIBITION OF SMOKING AND ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Smoking and the consumption of alcohol in any form are strictly prohibited within the Academy premises. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, and all alcoholic beverages.
19.2 HEALTH, SAFETY, AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
This policy is established to:
19.3 ZERO-TOLERANCE ENFORCEMENT
The Academy operates a zero-tolerance policy on smoking and alcohol use. Any student found engaging in such activities within the premises will be considered in direct violation of institutional regulations.
19.4 DISCIPLINARY MEASURES
Any student caught smoking or consuming alcohol within the Academy premises will be referred to the Disciplinary Panel for appropriate action. Sanctions may include formal warnings, suspension, or other penalties as deemed necessary by the Academy.
19.5 COMPLIANCE
This policy reinforces the Academy’s commitment to upholding discipline, safety, and professionalism. All students are expected to comply fully with this regulation at all times.
Students are not to cut fabrics in the VIP room. This is due to the nature of the floor, which is highly unsuitable for cutting fabrics.
NB: The VIP room is strictly for meetings, training, eating, and waiting/relaxation. Students are not allowed to receive lectures in the VIP room.
Students are to note that extracurricular activities attract extra fees. This fee shall not be compulsory but optional for interested students only. However, extracurricular activities are a part of the academic calendar, and students are solely responsible for planning and executing each month’s activity tailored to the calendar. Any student continuously found uninvolved would be queried by their Faculty and the Student Affairs Team.
The school reserves the right to all alumni/students’ pictures/videos, projects, materials for promotion, and also others as applicable. Pictures and videos of all students’ class activities are often taken for promotional use. No student must grieve against anyone taking pictures of them, as it aids the promotion of the student academy.
NB: Students are not allowed to provide personal services or promote their personal brand at school except for assignments and projects. Any student found to be engaging in such conduct will be penalised.
To ensure proper ownership, accountability, and institutional use of academic outputs, the following policy on student group projects is established:
23.1 INSTITUTIONAL OWNERSHIP OF PROJECTS
All group projects undertaken by students as part of their academic work within the Academy are considered the intellectual and physical property of the Academy upon completion.
23.2 MANDATORY SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT
Students are required to submit all completed group projects to the Academy. This submission must be done in accordance with the specified guidelines and timelines provided by the relevant faculty or department.
23.3 PURPOSE OF PROJECT RETENTION
Submitted projects may be retained by the Academy for purposes including, but not limited to:
23.4 RESTRICTIONS ON WITHHOLDING OR REMOVAL
Students are not permitted to withhold, remove, or claim exclusive ownership of any group project completed under the Academy’s program. Any such action will be considered a violation of institutional policy.
23.5 COMPLIANCE
Failure to submit completed group projects or any attempt to claim unauthorized ownership may result in disciplinary action, which may include academic penalties or other sanctions as determined by the Academy.
All students are expected to participate in this before graduation. For instance, a student may be required to provide voluntary service by teaching the foundation or beginner class students. This is a prerequisite for student graduation.
All Students and guardians understand and agree that the duties and obligations of GMYT Fashion Academy may be modified or suspended immediately and without notice due to force majeure causes beyond the Academy’s reasonable control and occurring without its fault or negligence, including, but not limited to, acts of God, fire, wars, governmental action, terrorism, epidemics, pandemics, weather, other threats to the safety of people, national emergencies, or any other event beyond the control of the Academy.
In the event of such an occurrence as identified above, the student acknowledges and agrees that his/her obligations to the Academy, including but not limited to financial responsibility for the Student’s tuition and other fees, shall continue, and the Academy’s duties and obligations may be modified, suspended, or postponed until such a time as GMYT Fashion Academy, in its sole discretion, may safely resume operations.
The student also acknowledges and agrees that the sole remedy for a force majeure event is future service delivery and not a financial refund. GMYT Fashion Academy may, at its option, and in its sole discretion, alter the academic year schedule or provide alternate means of instruction, including, but not limited to, remote learning.
All air conditioners must be used with caution. Air conditioners should never be switched on in unoccupied rooms, and windows and doors must be closed while in use. This will assist the school save cost, create a pleasant learning atmosphere for all students and limit the possibility of equipment becoming damaged. Students who breach this policy will face disciplinary action.
GMYT Fashion Academy is committed to maintaining a responsive, up-to-date policy framework that reflects the institution’s evolving needs. This section outlines the authority governing policy updates, the official website’s role as the primary source of current information, and the Academy’s right to amend policies as necessary.
26.1 POLICY UPDATES & WEBSITE AUTHORITY
The Academy maintains a Student Policy Document, which is routinely reviewed and updated as required. While formal documents are periodically revised, the Academy’s official website serves as the primary and most current point of reference for all policy updates.
All amendments, additions, or revisions to policies are first reflected on the website and shall be considered valid and enforceable upon publication. Students are expected to regularly consult the website to stay informed of the latest policies.
26.2 RIGHT TO AMEND POLICIES
The Academy reserves the right to review, modify, or introduce policies at any time as deemed necessary. Such updates are implemented to address operational needs, close identified gaps, and ensure continuous improvement in service delivery and academic standards.
All updated policies are binding on students upon release, regardless of when a student initially enrolled. Continued participation in the Academy constitutes acceptance of any current and future policy revisions.
1.1 FULL TIME STUDENTS: Full-time students are permitted, based on their fee and program, to come to school from Mondays to Fridays.
1.2 PART TIME STUDENTS: Executive students are permitted to come to school twice a week, i.e. Saturday and any other day within the week. Note that 3 lecture days a week is only for weekday students.
1.3 FOUNDATION STUDENT: Students under the foundation program are permitted to receive lectures only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
1.4 INTERNSHIP: The Academy has a paid internship for all students after graduation having covered the cut-off mark of 75 % in their final grading. Students interested in the internship program shall apply officially via mail to: gmytfashionacademy@gmail.com for approval.
1.5 CLASS STAGES: The GMYT Fashion Academy curriculum is designed with the corporate strategic focus to equip all students with all necessary skills to excel in the fashion space. The curriculum is therefore designed to progress students across competencies as follows;
i. Newbies / Newestbies
ii. Freshers
iii. Beginners
iv. Intermediate / Advanced
All students that register with GMYT fashion academy must start from basic regardless of the training they might have gotten elsewhere.
1.6 CHANGE OF PROGRAM POLICY
1.6.1 Eligibility for Program Change
Any student seeking to change their program after admission must comply with the following procedure and pay the requisite administrative fee. Program changes are only permitted after official admission and enrollment have been completed.
1.6.2 Administrative Fee
A non-refundable fee of ₦200,000 must be paid to initiate the program change request.
1.6.3 Payment Submission
Students must submit proof of payment to the Accounts Department via gmyt4financedept@gmail.com
before any program change can be processed.
1.6.4 Required Updates Following Program Change
Upon approval of the program change, the following internal updates will be executed:
Issuance of a new Student ID card
Assignment of a new Matriculation Number
Creation or update of the official school email
Reassignment to the appropriate class or cohort
Updates to all relevant internal academic and administrative records
1.6.5 Processing Timeline
All updates and confirmations will be completed within 7 business days of receipt of proof of payment and submission of the program change request.
1.6.6 Compliance
Failure to complete the payment or provide accurate information may result in delays or denial of the program change request. The academy reserves the right to refuse any request that does not adhere to this policy.
The GMYT induction designed for new students as well as any other event organized by the Academy is mandatory for all students.
Any student who, based on uncontrolled circumstances, may be absent from the induction or any of such events as described above must send a notice, not later than 72 hours to the said event and must have gotten an approval for such absence before embarking on such absence.
Every student, at the completion of their program at GMYT is required to pay for and attend the graduation ceremony / fashion show organized by the school in partnership with (GAHAWARDS). It is important students understand that this is a critical part of their program with GMYT Fashion Academy and it is mandatory for certification.
All student must participate in all tests, exams, collections and projects, as these combined form the basis for continuous assessment and final certification. Students who fail to participate in these continuous assessment, without an approved reason shall undergo disciplinary actions up dismissals and/or decertification.
4.1 Projects: The Academy, during its monthly Fabric week, expects all students to complete a project organized by their respective supervisors / Facilitators. All students are expected to participate fully and submit their projects as may be required from time to time by the Academy.
All student must participate in all group projects and submit their projects after their logbooks have also been signed.
A student who does not pay but participated will not be cleared by his/her supervisor.
A student who pays for the project but did not participate will also not be cleared by the supervisor.
A student who defaults on any of the instructions of these shall be made to execute the project single-handedly and submit to the HOD without any supervision.
Any student that does not participate in any other project, either organized by their class or the academy, will not be allowed in class until such a time, when the said student submits double of the assigned project to the school.
4.2 Cut Off Mark: Student assessment at GMYT Fashion Academy shall be cumulative of all assignments, class work and projects. At the end of the program, all students are expected to meet up with the cut-off mark approved by the Academy. The approved cut off mark is 75% and it is the criteria for graduation. Failure to meet up will attract extra fees and a reseat of the practical sessions for the said students.
4.3 Graduation/Certification
4.3.1 In furtherance to the provisions above, the following are the acceptable criteria for all students of GMYT Fashion Academy at the completion of their program, to be considered for graduation and certification;
i. Financial Clearance form
ii. Proof of minimum attendance requirement for course type (75%).
iii. Proof of no equipment damage clearance form
iv. Proof of return of all academy property(s) including keys, Identity cards etc.
v. Submission of not-less-than 3 body forms or mannequins to the school in union.
vi. Submission of supervisor grading for final Showcase.
Any student that does not showcase a collection on the runway will not be entitled to a certificate.
4.4 Testimonials: All students are required to give testimonials within three months into the program as feedback is an important criterion for structure.
4.5 Submission Of Graduation Outfits: Students must submit their graduation outfits before the event day to enable the school make appropriate arrangement for them.
Students’ kit package are made available upon payment of required fees to the accounting department.
5.1 Starter Kits: The Academy provides the students with all necessary basic sewing kits for their class work, however all students are responsible for their kits as the management will not be liable for any misplaced kits.
5.2 Uniformity: Students are expected to purchase all kit(s) in school so as to encourage uniformity in materials/tools.
5.3 Procedure For Kits Purchase: To purchase kits from the store, student may follow any of the following procedures;
Send a mail to the accounting department containing the list of kit items needed, requesting for the cost of the items from the account department.
With a reply from the Accounting department on the initial request as explained above, students may proceed to make payment.
The student shall then proceed to send a mail requesting for the kits, attaching the proof of payment for the said kits to the mail.
Alternatively, a student may approach the accounting department to make payment for the kits and also proceed to receive the kits, from the store with their receipts.
5.4 Illustration Kits: FREE Illustration kits qualifies you for the illustration classes. Only the approved illustration kits are allowed in class.
GMYT Fashion Academy, as part of her empowerment program, provides sewing machines to certain students based on predefined terms and conditions and that the sewing machines are issued on this basis. All students understand and agree that the sewing machine is not covered by and consequently not part of the fee(s) paid by the student upon registration for any program in the Academy. All students understand that the sewing machine is issued as part of GMYT Fashion Academy’s corporate social responsibility, through her empowerment scheme championed proudly by the GMYT Foundation to certain students who meet the following requirements;
A student may only be considered for sewing machine if such student makes a one-time full payments at the point of registration with the Academy. Students making payments in installments shall NOT be considered for the free machine scheme
A students in furtherance of fulfilling the above requirement MUST be present at the GAH-AWARDS ceremony, to be considered for the sewing machine scheme.
The sewing machine can only be collected on GAH-AWARDS ceremony (not sooner or later).
The sewing machine CANNOT be collected by a representative or by proxy but by the prospective student personally on that day.
Weekend students and foundation students are NOT entitled to free machines, only WEEKDAY students that meet the payment policy criteria are eligible.
Students who register for 3,6,9 months and below shall NOT be considered for the sewing machine scheme.
A student who meets the above requirements shall write a letter addressed to the accounting department, requesting to be considered for the sewing machine scheme, while attaching evidence of full payment to the school.
6.1 Demurrage: Any student, who is deemed qualified for sewing machine BUT fails to pick up the machine shall pay a demurrage fee of Two thousand (2,000) naira for each day the machine stays at school.
7.1 Non-refundable/non-covertable Of Fees: All tuition fee as well as any other payments made to the academy is non-refundable, non-transferable and non convertible.
Note that all fees paid to the school are non-refundable and all installment fees must be fully paid within 3months from first payment.
7.2 Installment Payment
Only six, nine and twelve months fee payments may be paid in installments.
Three Months fees may only be paid once.
All installment fees must be paid within 3 months on the agreed dates. Else he/she will be asked to withdraw from the school. Note that your tuition fee is not transferable to another person.
7.3 Extension Of Duration
Student are eligible to extend their program within two weeks of resumption. Only the difference between the current duration and the one the student wish to extend will be paid. Hence, extention of program after 2 weeks cost #100,000 for the first month and #50,000 for subsequent months.
7.4 DEFERMENTS
All students are entitled to deferment of not more than 3 months accompanied with valid reason to be away. Hence freezing of account costs the sum of fifty thousand naira only (#50,000) per month.
7.5. IDENTITY CARD
Student must always wear their ID Cards. Any student that goes contrary to this will not be allowed in the school and can be suspended if it becomes a pattern; hence new students are entitled to temporal Identity card approved by the school (kindly visit the account office for issuance)
7.6 Loss Of ID Card
Reissuing of the school ID card if lost cost #10,000.
7.7 Freezing Of Account
Note: To freeze your account,
1. you would need apply, stating when you are leaving and your expected return date.
2. Make your payment
3. Submit your ID card as a new one would be issued to you on your return to the school.
NB: if no approval is given the request is void, nonetheless with/without approval all students must graduate within same year of registration/admission.
7.8 Non-commencement or Non-completion of Course
If a student fails to complete the course, No refund or reduction of fees will be given to him/her. Also, the number of hours must be completed by each student before practical and exams can be taken.
All course forms must be filled including two passports, one portrait photographs in soft and hard copy and must be submitted before resumption, nonetheless a grace of two weeks is given hence the student registration becomes void with the school after two weeks. Student Course form is issued to every student by the academy upon full payment for registration with the school. The course form details all activities of the student in the Academy and must be kept properly.
GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be responsible for the loss or damage of any course form in the possession of any students.
GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be required to duplicate the contents of any student in the future resulting from the loss or damage of any course form.
8.1 MD’s/ Hos Remark: All students are expected to submit their log book to their HOD every month for sighting and remarks.
COURSE FORMS
8.2 Loss Of Course Form/log Book: New course form/logbook if misplaced cost ten thousand naira only (#10,000) hence it’s important that all students take proper care of it, as this is the official book approved by the school for Documentation and also to track students’ progress, hence any student without logbook will not be allowed in class and no facilitator will attend him/her.
8.3 Logbooks: All students are expected to sign in all their daily activities in their logbooks and ensure that their instructors sign on it. Failure to do this will result in suspension.
8.4 Syllabus: Non-completion of the program’s syllabus by any student means the student will not be allowed to take final examination. Any student who does not complete the syllabus will have to complete it on extra cost.
Attendance: Any student that doesn’t partake of any fabric week will create two different outfits unassisted; and the styles of the outfits will be given by the HOD. Also, such a student will have to get a Model, go to a studio, take professional pictures of the two projects and submit it to the school in a 500g hard drive which becomes the property of the school.
10.1 Discipline And Disciplinary Procedures: The management of the academy reserves the right to suspend, dismiss or expel students with/without notice, should the student give sufficient cause. In such case, the management’s decision will be final and no refund of fees will be made.
10.2 Damages & Loss
In the case of loss or damage of school property by a student, other students of the same department are expected to report the case immediately to the school management and identify the culprit. Failure to do this, will attract penalty for the whole class/school and the management will ensure its replaced or fixed, hence class sessions will be put on hold until its rectified.
Note: its very important that a student takes full responsibility of any damage caused by him/her and fix same immediately so as not to disrupt class activities
10.3 Classroom Policy
All students are expected to read their class policies at all times.
Students must submit their course form first thing before they go into the class.
Punctual and Regular Students should plan arriving on time to avoid entering the class when class has started to avoid distracting the instructor and students.
Contact the instructor when you have to miss class.
Avoid walking out half way into the class
Respect others.
Be polite.
Turn off or silent your cell phone.
Contribute to the class discussion when appropriate.
Avoid side conversation.
Be attentive in class
Be organized.
No conniving.
Address the instructors properly.
No bullying of any kind.
Ensure to maintain cleanliness in the class and also in the comfort.
Avoid signaling, sending signs that class time is up.
Be organized.
Ensure to maintain cleanliness in the class and also in within the Academy.
Ensure to always turn off the sewing machine, pressing iron and sockets after use.
10.4 Defamation
The reason for the school policies is to protect the interest of the students and the school. Any student found guilty of verbally defaming and sabotaging the school will be expelled immediately. Also the school shall follow all legal means to persecute the culprit.
10.5 Stealing: Stealing of any kind is a serious offence at GMYT. Any student caught in the act shall be expelled forthwith and may be made to go through legal prosecution
10.6 Uniform: All students must wear academy’s T-Shirts on Fridays. Any student that does not wear the T-shirt will not be allowed in class and no facilitator will attend to him/her.
10.7 MD’s Office: Students are not allowed to walk into the MD’s office without prior authorization from the customer service desk, if any student wants the attention of the MD/CEO urgently he/she can send an email to ceo4gmytfashionacademy@gmail.com or use the official process which is the course form.
10.8 Meeting: MD/CEO will not always be present during the students meetings except for emergencies
10.9 Resumption And Closing Time: Classes resume at 9:00am and closes by 3:00pm. Hence students are advised to leave the classrooms to VIP room once their session is done with the facilitators.
10.10 Absenteeism: Students must write a letter in their logbooks addressing it to the class facilitators or the HOD stating urgent reasons why they will miss classes and why they should grant them permission.
Courses are continuous except for termination or vacation on given dates which must be approved by the MD/CEO
NB. In cases of illness, the days/weeks/months missed will be refunded upon tendering doctors report.
10.11 Littering Of Classes, Executive Lounge And Cutting Room With Dirt: Students must maintain cleanliness in the classrooms, cutting rooms and the VIP room. Any student caught going contrary to this instruction would be suspended.
11.0 HEALTH REGULATION POLICY
This policy is established to ensure the health, safety, and overall well-being of all students within the Academy. It outlines the responsibilities and expectations required to maintain a hygienic, safe, and conducive learning environment.
11.1 MEDICAL DISCLOSURE AND DOCUMENTATION
All students are required to accurately fill out the official medical form provided by the Academy. This form must clearly state the student’s current health status, medical history (where applicable), and level of physical fitness.
This requirement is essential for:
11.2 PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HEALTH
Students are hereby informed that the responsibility for maintaining their health and well-being rests primarily with them and not with the Academy.
Therefore, all students are expected to:

All students are expected to comply fully with this policy and any additional health directives issued by the Academy from time to time. Non-compliance may attract disciplinary actions, as it constitutes a risk to the collective safety of the academic community.
11.6 COMPLIANCE
This Health Regulation Policy reflects the Academy’s commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment. While the Academy provides guidance and structure, every student is expected to act responsibly and contribute actively to maintaining these standards.
Compliance with this policy is mandatory and forms part of the Academy’s commitment to maintaining a healthy and conducive academic environment for all.

Great care must be taken in the use of all the air-conditioning units within the facility. It follows that all windows and doors of a class must be constantly shut at all moments the air-conditioner is operational. This would limit the risk of the units getting spoilt untimely and the academy would be in a better position to continuously provide conducive learning environment for all the students Any student group of students) found to violate this protocol would be penalized.
Student are not allowed to entertain guests at the academy during official hours.
Solid foods isn’t allowed in the class all students must take a break off class to the VIP room for breakfast, lunch or snack so as not to disrupt class activities.
Nannies are not allowed in the school but Students with babies from 0-1year can bring them to school, however considering the nature of the classrooms, parents are liable for their kids, and the management would not be responsible should accidents happen, also parents must ensure their kids don’t disrupt classes.
Students are to write their complaints addressing it to the right office using the templates in their course form, print or give the photocopy to the customer service or accountant so it can be addressed officially, verbal complaints are considered void in this Organization. Students are to come to school on corporate wear or casual corporate. Students are not allowed to come to school on slippers or flip slops. Students can come with any of these: Flat Shoes, heels or sneakers. Anyone found without the appropriate dress code would be sent back.
Smoking is prohibited in the school premises.
Students are not to cut fabrics in the VIP room. This is due to the nature of the floor as it is highly unsuitable for cutting fabrics.
Students are to note that extra-curricular activities attract extra fees. This fee shall not be compulsory but optional for interested students only.
The school reserves the right to all alumni/students’ pictures/videos, projects, materials for promotion, and also others as applicable. Pictures of all students’ class activities are often taken for promotional use. No student must grieve against anyone taking pictures of them as it aids the promotion of the student /academy.

All students are expected to participate in this before graduation. For instance, a student may be required for a voluntary service of teaching the foundation student. This is a pre-requisite for student graduation.
All Students and guardians understand and agree that the duties and obligations of GMYT Fashion Academy may be modified or suspended immediately and without notice due to force majeure causes beyond the Academy’s reasonable control and occurring without its fault or negligence including, but not limited to, acts of God, fire, wars, governmental action, terrorism, epidemic, pandemic, weather, other threats to the safety of people, national emergencies, or any other event beyond the control of the Academy.
In the event of such an occurrence as identified above, the student acknowledges and agrees that his/her obligations to the Academy, including but not limited to financial responsibility for the Student’s tuition and other fees, shall continue and the Academy’s duties and obligations may be modified, suspended, or postponed until such a time as GMYT Fashion Academy, in its sole discretion, may safely resume operations.
The student also acknowledges and agree that the sole remedy for a force majeure event is future service delivery and not a financial refund. GMYT Fashion Academy may, at its option, and in its sole discretion, alter the academic year schedule or provide alternate means of instruction, including, but not limited to, remote learning
1.1 FULL TIME STUDENTS: Full-time students are permitted, based on their fee and program, to come to school from Mondays to Fridays.
1.2 PART TIME STUDENTS: Executive students are permitted to come to school twice a week, i.e. Saturday and any other day within the week. Note that 3 lecture days a week is only for weekday students.
1.3 FOUNDATION STUDENT: Students under the foundation program are permitted to receive lectures only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
1.4 INTERNSHIP: The Academy has a paid internship for all students after graduation having covered the cut-off mark of 75 % in their final grading. Students interested in the internship program shall apply officially via mail to: gmytfashionacademy@gmail.com for approval.
1.5 CLASS STAGES: The GMYT Fashion Academy curriculum is designed with the corporate strategic focus to equip all students with all necessary skills to excel in the fashion space. The curriculum is therefore designed to progress students across competencies as follows;

iii. Beginners
iv. Intermediate / Advanced
All students that register with GMYT fashion academy must start from basic regardless of the training they might have gotten elsewhere.
1.6 CHANGE OF PROGRAM POLICY
1.6.1 Eligibility for Program Change
Any student seeking to change their program after admission must comply with the following procedure and pay the requisite administrative fee. Program changes are only permitted after official admission and enrollment have been completed.
1.6.2 Administrative Fee
A non-refundable fee of ₦200,000 must be paid to initiate the program change request.

before any program change can be processed.
1.6.4 Required Updates Following Program Change
Upon approval of the program change, the following internal updates will be executed:
Issuance of a new Student ID card
Assignment of a new Matriculation Number
Creation or update of the official school email
Reassignment to the appropriate class or cohort
Updates to all relevant internal academic and administrative records
1.6.5 Processing Timeline
All updates and confirmations will be completed within 7 business days of receipt of proof of payment and submission of the program change request.
1.6.6 Compliance
Failure to complete the payment or provide accurate information may result in delays or denial of the program change request. The academy reserves the right to refuse any request that does not adhere to this policy.
2.1.1 Registration Timeline
All newly admitted students are required to commence and complete their registration and documentation process within two (2) weeks of resuming at GMYT Fashion Academy. This process confirms the student’s official enrollment status and eligibility to participate in academic activities within the Academy.
2.1.2 Mandatory Registration Documentation
As part of the registration process, students must print, complete, and submit the following official documents to the Academy:

2.1.3 Mandatory Student Payments
In addition to the applicable payment structure, the following payments are mandatory for all students and must be completed as part of the registration and documentation process:
All payments must be supported with valid payment receipts. Copies of these receipts must be sent to the Finance Department via the official email (gmytfinancedept@gmail.com) for acknowledgement.
Students are also required to print these payment receipts and include them in the registration documentation submitted to the Academy as part of their official student records.
2.1.4 Class Attendance Restriction for Incomplete Documentation
Students whose registration or documentation remains incomplete will not be permitted to attend classes or participate in academic activities until all required documentation and payment records have been fully completed and verified by the appropriate administrative department.
2.1.5 Compliance
Failure to complete the required registration and documentation within the stipulated time-frame may result in academic access restrictions or other administrative actions, as determined by the Academy.
2.2.1 Monthly Student Induction
GMYT Fashion Academy conducts a monthly induction ceremony to formally induct students who have successfully completed their registration and admission documentation. The induction officially recognizes students as members of the Academy and marks the commencement of their academic journey within the institution.
2.2.2 Mandatory Orientation and Institutional Events
The GMYT Orientation Program is designed specifically for newly admitted students to introduce them to the Academy’s academic structure, institutional policies, learning expectations, and operational procedures.
Attendance at the orientation program, induction ceremony, and any other official event organized by the Academy is mandatory for all students.
2.2.3 Absence from Orientation or Official Events
Any student who may be unable to attend the orientation program or any official institutional event due to unavoidable circumstances must formally notify the Academy.

The request must be submitted not later than 24 hours before the scheduled event, and the student must obtain prior approval from the Academy before being absent.
2.2.4 Compliance
Failure to comply with the orientation and induction requirements without prior approval from the Academy may result in administrative action or delayed participation in academic activities, as determined by the institution.
A laptop is a mandatory academic requirement for all students of GMYT Fashion Academy. Students are required to come to school with their personal laptops as it forms an essential tool for learning and participation in academic activities.
Student laptops will be used for the following academic purposes:
All Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and examinations at GMYT Fashion Academy must be conducted using laptops only.
Students without laptops may not be permitted to participate in CBT examinations until this requirement is fulfilled.
STUDENT GUARANTOR FORM
The student guarantor form needs to updated. We need to include Guarantor eligibility so the students won’t just give the form to just anyone to fill.
To ensure accountability and proper verification, every student of GMYT Fashion Academy must present a guarantor who meets the following eligibility criteria:
Every student, at the completion of their program at GMYT is required to pay for and attend the graduation ceremony / fashion show organized by the school in partnership with (GAHAWARDS). It is important students understand that this is a critical part of their program with GMYT Fashion Academy and it is mandatory for certification.
All student must participate in all tests, exams, collections and projects, as these combined form the basis for continuous assessment and final certification. Students who fail to participate in these continuous assessment, without an approved reason shall undergo disciplinary actions up dismissals and/or decertification.
4.1 Projects: The Academy, during its monthly Fabric week, expects all students to complete a project organized by their respective supervisors / Facilitators. All students are expected to participate fully and submit their projects as may be required from time to time by the Academy.
All student must participate in all group projects and submit their projects after their logbooks have also been signed.
A student who does not pay but participated will not be cleared by his/her supervisor.
A student who pays for the project but did not participate will also not be cleared by the supervisor.
A student who defaults on any of the instructions of these shall be made to execute the project single-handedly and submit to the HOD without any supervision.
Any student that does not participate in any other project, either organized by their class or the academy, will not be allowed in class until such a time, when the said student submits double of the assigned project to the school.
4.2 Cut Off Mark: Student assessment at GMYT Fashion Academy shall be cumulative of all assignments, class work and projects. At the end of the program, all students are expected to meet up with the cut-off mark approved by the Academy. The approved cut off mark is 75% and it is the criteria for graduation. Failure to meet up will attract extra fees and a reseat of the practical sessions for the said students.
4.3 Graduation/Certification
4.3.1 In furtherance to the provisions above, the following are the acceptable criteria for all students of GMYT Fashion Academy at the completion of their program, to be considered for graduation and certification;
i. Financial Clearance form
ii. Proof of minimum attendance requirement for course type (75%).
iii. Proof of no equipment damage clearance form
iv. Proof of return of all academy property(s) including keys, Identity cards etc.
v. Submission of not-less-than 3 body forms or mannequins to the school in union.
vi. Submission of supervisor grading for final Showcase.
Any student that does not showcase a collection on the runway will not be entitled to a certificate.
4.4 Testimonials: All students are required to give testimonials within three months into the program as feedback is an important criterion for structure.
4.5 Submission Of Graduation Outfits: Students must submit their graduation outfits before the event day to enable the school make appropriate arrangement for them.
Students’ kit package are made available upon payment of required fees to the accounting department.
5.1 Starter Kits: The Academy provides the students with all necessary basic sewing kits for their class work, however all students are responsible for their kits as the management will not be liable for any misplaced kits.
5.2 Uniformity: Students are expected to purchase all kit(s) in school so as to encourage uniformity in materials/tools.
5.3 Procedure For Kits Purchase: To purchase kits from the store, student may follow any of the following procedures;
Send a mail to the accounting department containing the list of kit items needed, requesting for the cost of the items from the account department.
With a reply from the Accounting department on the initial request as explained above, students may proceed to make payment.
The student shall then proceed to send a mail requesting for the kits, attaching the proof of payment for the said kits to the mail.
Alternatively, a student may approach the accounting department to make payment for the kits and also proceed to receive the kits, from the store with their receipts.
5.4 Illustration Kits: FREE Illustration kits qualifies you for the illustration classes. Only the approved illustration kits are allowed in class.
GMYT Fashion Academy, as part of her empowerment program, provides sewing machines to certain students based on predefined terms and conditions and that the sewing machines are issued on this basis. All students understand and agree that the sewing machine is not covered by and consequently not part of the fee(s) paid by the student upon registration for any program in the Academy. All students understand that the sewing machine is issued as part of GMYT Fashion Academy’s corporate social responsibility, through her empowerment scheme championed proudly by the GMYT Foundation to certain students who meet the following requirements;
A student may only be considered for sewing machine if such student makes a one-time full payments at the point of registration with the Academy. Students making payments in installments shall NOT be considered for the free machine scheme
A students in furtherance of fulfilling the above requirement MUST be present at the induction ceremony, to be considered for the sewing machine scheme.
The sewing machine can only be collected on the date of the induction ceremony (not sooner or later).
The sewing machine CANNOT be collected by a representative or by proxy but by the prospective student personally on the day of the induction.
Weekend students and foundation students are NOT entitled to free machines, only WEEKDAY students that meet the payment policy criteria are eligible.
Students who register for 3 months and below shall NOT be considered for the sewing machine scheme.
A student who meets the above requirements shall write a letter addressed to the accounting department, requesting to be considered for the sewing machine scheme, while attaching evidence of full payment to the school.
6.1 Demurrage: Any student, who is deemed qualified for sewing machine BUT fails to pick up the machine shall pay a demurrage fee of Two thousand (2,000) naira for each day the machine stays at school.
7.1 Non-refundable/non-covertable Of Fees: All tuition fee as well as any other payments made to the academy is non-refundable, non-transferable and non convertible.
Note that all fees paid to the school are non-refundable and all installment fees must be fully paid within 3months from first payment.
7.2 Installment Payment
Only six, nine and twelve months fee payments may be paid in installments.
Three Months fees may only be paid once.
All installment fees must be paid within 3 months on the agreed dates. Else he/she will be asked to withdraw from the school. Note that your tuition fee is not transferable to another person.
7.3 Extension Of Duration
Students who wish to extend their programme within 3 months of registration would only have to pay the difference between their current duration and the one they wish to extend to. Hence, extension of program after 3 months costs #100,000 for the first month and #50,000 for subsequent months.
7.4 DEFERMENTS
All students are entitled to deferment of not more than 3 months accompanied with valid reason to be away. Hence freezing of account costs the sum of fifty thousand naira only (#50,000) per month.
7.5. IDENTITY CARD
Student must always wear their ID Cards. Any student that goes contrary to this will not be allowed in the school and can be suspended if it becomes a pattern; hence new students are entitled to temporal Identity card approved by the school (kindly visit the account office for issuance)
7.6 Loss Of ID Card
Reissuing of the school ID card if lost cost #10,000.
7.7 Freezing Of Account
Note: To freeze your account,
1. you would need apply, stating when you are leaving and your expected return date.
2. Make your payment
3. Submit your ID card as a new one would be issued to you on your return to the school.
NB: if no approval is given the request is void, nonetheless with/without approval all students must graduate within same year of registration/admission.
7.8 Non-commencement or Non-completion of Course
If a student fails to complete the course, No refund or reduction of fees will be given to him/her. Also, the number of hours must be completed by each student before practical and exams can be taken.
All course forms must be filled including two passports, one portrait photographs in soft and hard copy and must be submitted before resumption, nonetheless a grace of two weeks is given hence the student registration becomes void with the school after two weeks. Student Course form is issued to every student by the academy upon full payment for registration with the school. The course form details all activities of the student in the Academy and must be kept properly.
GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be responsible for the loss or damage of any course form in the possession of any students.
GMYT Fashion Academy shall not be required to duplicate the contents of any student in the future resulting from the loss or damage of any course form.
8.1 MD’s/ Hos Remark: All students are expected to submit their log book to their HOD every month for sighting and remarks.
COURSE FORMS
8.2 Loss Of Course Form/log Book: New course form/logbook if misplaced cost ten thousand naira only (#10,000) hence it’s important that all students take proper care of it, as this is the official book approved by the school for Documentation and also to track students’ progress, hence any student without logbook will not be allowed in class and no facilitator will attend him/her.
8.3 Logbooks: All students are expected to sign in all their daily activities in their logbooks and ensure that their instructors sign on it. Failure to do this will result in suspension.
8.4 Syllabus: Non-completion of the program’s syllabus by any student means the student will not be allowed to take final examination. Any student who does not complete the syllabus will have to complete it on extra cost.
Attendance: Any student that doesn’t partake of any fabric week will create two different outfits unassisted; and the styles of the outfits will be given by the HOD. Also, such a student will have to get a Model, go to a studio, take professional pictures of the two projects and submit it to the school in a 500g hard drive which becomes the property of the school.
10.1 Discipline And Disciplinary Procedures: The management of the academy reserves the right to suspend, dismiss or expel students with/without notice, should the student give sufficient cause. In such case, the management’s decision will be final and no refund of fees will be made.
10.2 Damages & Loss
In the case of loss or damage of school property by a student, other students of the same department are expected to report the case immediately to the school management and identify the culprit. Failure to do this, will attract penalty for the whole class/school and the management will ensure its replaced or fixed, hence class sessions will be put on hold until its rectified.
Note: its very important that a student takes full responsibility of any damage caused by him/her and fix same immediately so as not to disrupt class activities
10.3 Classroom Policy
All students are expected to read their class policies at all times.
Students must submit their course form first thing before they go into the class.
Punctual and Regular Students should plan arriving on time to avoid entering the class when class has started to avoid distracting the instructor and students.
Contact the instructor when you have to miss class.
Avoid walking out half way into the class
Respect others.
Be polite.
Turn off or silent your cell phone.
Contribute to the class discussion when appropriate.
Avoid side conversation.
Be attentive in class
Be organized.
No conniving.
Address the instructors properly.
No bullying of any kind.
Ensure to maintain cleanliness in the class and also in the comfort.
Avoid signaling, sending signs that class time is up.

10.4 Defamation
The reason for the school policies is to protect the interest of the students and the school. Any student found guilty of verbally defaming and sabotaging the school will be expelled immediately. Also the school shall follow all legal means to persecute the culprit.
10.5 Stealing: Stealing of any kind is a serious offence at GMYT. Any student caught in the act shall be expelled forthwith and may be made to go through legal prosecution
10.6 Uniform: All students must wear academy’s T-Shirts on Fridays. Any student that does not wear the T-shirt will not be allowed in class and no facilitator will attend to him/her.
10.7 MD’s Office: Students are not allowed to walk into the MD’s office without prior authorization from the customer service desk, if any student wants the attention of the MD/CEO urgently he/she can send an email to ceo4gmytfashionacademy@gmail.com or use the official process which is the course form.
10.8 Meeting: MD/CEO will not always be present during the students meetings except for emergencies
10.9 Resumption And Closing Time: Classes resume at 9:00am and closes by 3:00pm. Hence students are advised to leave the classrooms to VIP room once their session is done with the facilitators.
10.10 Absenteeism: Students must write a letter in their logbooks addressing it to the class facilitators or the HOD stating urgent reasons why they will miss classes and why they should grant them permission.
Courses are continuous except for termination or vacation on given dates which must be approved by the MD/CEO

10.11 Littering Of Classes, Executive Lounge And Cutting Room With Dirt: Students must maintain cleanliness in the classrooms, cutting rooms and the VIP room. Any student caught going contrary to this instruction would be suspended.
